For months, Senator Manchin of W. Virginia has been pushing a set of reforms that would make it much easier to jump start new fossil fuel projects. If passed, this bill would gut critical environmental protections like the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), endanger public health, fast-track fossil fuel permits, and push approval for Manchin's pet project, the Mountain Valley Pipeline. This is a dirty deal written by and for the fossil fuel industry, and it would only further harm frontline communities.
